Mikel Arteta is ready to make a statement in Madrid tonight. The Arsenal manager addressed the media at the Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday evening. He looked focused as the Gunners prepare for their Champions League semi-final first leg.

Arteta believes his squad is peaking at the perfect time. A massive weekend win over Newcastle has boosted team morale. The energy in the camp is currently at an all-time high.

A Massive Privilege for Arsenal

This is Arsenal’s second successive semi-final under the Spaniard’s leadership. Arteta was quick to remind everyone how far the club has come. He noted that Arsenal recently spent seven years away from the competition.

“We have an opportunity and we will grab it with both hands,” Arteta declared. He wants his team to be dominant from the first whistle. The goal is to start deciding the tie in the away leg.

Team News and Injuries

The manager provided several key updates on his squad’s fitness. Fans will be happy to hear that Riccardo Calafiori is available for selection. Bukayo Saka is also expected to play a major role in the attack.

However, the news was not all positive for the London side. Kai Havertz is officially out of the clash. On a brighter note, Eberechi Eze is ready to go and could start.

Respect for Simeone’s Men

Arteta showed plenty of respect for Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid. He praised their remarkable experience in this competition. The Spaniards are famous for their defensive grit and tactical discipline.

Despite the challenge, the Gunners remain the only unbeaten team left in Europe. Arteta expects a “really tough match” in a hostile environment. He urged his players to embrace the moment and play with total confidence.
