Leeds United delivered an impressive performance at Elland Road on Sunday, defeating Norwich City 3–0 to book their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time in more than two decades.
Leeds United controlled the match from the start and finally broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Sean Longstaff volleyed home after a clever build-up move inside the Norwich penalty area. The goal gave the hosts momentum and lifted the atmosphere inside Elland Road.
The home side doubled their advantage just before halftime through defender Gabriel Gudmundsson, who reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and fired it into the net to make it 2–0 before the break.
Norwich attempted to respond in the second half, creating a few chances as they pushed forward in search of a comeback. However, Leeds’ defense remained solid and limited the visitors to very few clear opportunities.
The result was sealed late in the game when striker Joël Piroe finished off a quick counter-attack in the 85th minute, ensuring a comfortable victory and sending the home fans into celebration.

The win was a major moment for Leeds and their manager Daniel Farke, whose side reached the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 2003. The victory also came at a crucial time as Leeds continue to battle for stability in the Premier League while dreaming of a memorable cup run.
For Norwich, the defeat ended an encouraging cup journey. Despite arriving in good form, they struggled to cope with Leeds’ pace and intensity throughout the match.
Leeds will now turn their attention to the quarter-final draw as they aim to keep their FA Cup dream alive and move one step closer to Wembley.
