Juventus finally looked like the powerhouse fans have been screaming for. After a rough patch that had everyone questioning the direction of the club, the Bianconeri turned up the heat at the Allianz Stadium yesterday, brushing aside Genoa with a clinical 2-0 victory.

It wasn’t just the win; it was the way they controlled the tempo from the jump. Luciano Spalletti’s men knew they couldn’t afford another slip-up with the Champions League race tightening, and they delivered exactly what the doctor ordered.

The Early Blitz

You couldn’t have asked for a better start. Just four minutes in, Bremer reminded everyone why he’s one of the best aerial threats in the league. Rising high to meet a knockdown from Lloyd Kelly, the Brazilian powerhouse thundered a header home to settle the nerves early.

Genoa tried to complain about a foul in the buildup, but the ref wasn’t having any of it. Juve had the lead, and they weren’t about to let go.

McKennie Doubles Down

If Bremer provided the muscle, Weston McKennie provided the spark. The American midfielder was everywhere yesterday, and he got his reward in the 17th minute. Following a lightning-fast counter-attack, McKennie was perfectly positioned to sweep home a Francisco Conceicao cutback.

At 2-0 before the twenty-minute mark, the game felt effectively over. Genoa struggled to find any rhythm, and while they had a massive chance to get back into it late with a penalty, Michele Di Gregorio stood tall. The Juve keeper guessed right and smothered the spot-kick, ensuring the clean sheet remained intact.

What This Means for the Table

This result is massive. With Como dropping points in a scoreless draw against Udinese, Juventus has now closed the gap to just one point behind the top four. The “Old Lady” is finding her stride at just the right time, recording their fifth straight league clean sheet against Genoa—a defensive record that suggests Spalletti has finally fixed the leaks.
