The 2026 Enterprise Cup has just hit a fever pitch, and if you weren’t at the ASK Showground in Kakamega this Saturday, you missed a masterclass in dominance. The “Rai Derby” lived up to the hype, but for Menengai Oilers, it was another case of “so close, yet so far” as the defending champions, Kabras Sugar, punched their ticket to yet another final.

Kabras Sugar vs. Menengai Oilers: The Sugar Millers Still Rule

It’s becoming a bit of a broken record for the Oilers, isn’t it? Every time they look like they’ve found the formula to crack the Kabras code, the Sugar Millers shift gears. Despite missing heavy hitters like George Nyambua and Jone Kubu to the Hong Kong 10s and injuries, Kabras showed why they have a five-peat under their belts.

The match was a physical grind from the first whistle, but Kabras utilized their depth perfectly. Adrian Khwesa, the speedster called up from the Eric Shirley Shield, looked right at home, while the front row of Ephraim Oduor and Eugene Sifuna simply bullied the Oilers’ pack. The result? A convincing victory that sets Kabras up for a shot at their sixth consecutive title.

The Ugandan Ghost: Stanbic Black Pirates Stun Nondies

While the fans in Kakamega were celebrating, the script took a wild turn over at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere. We were all hoping for an all-Kenyan final, but the Stanbic Black Pirates had other plans. After knocking out tournament favorites KCB in the quarters, the Pirates have proven they aren’t just “participating”—they are here to take the trophy back to Kampala.

Nondescripts RFC put up a hell of a fight, but the Ugandans, spurred on by a raucous home crowd, held their nerve. This puts the Pirates in the final against Kabras Sugar on May 30, making it a true East African cross-border showdown.

What’s Next?

The final is set for May 30, 2026. Can Kabras Sugar keep the Enterprise Cup in Kakamega for the sixth year running, or will the Pirates pull off the ultimate heist and become the first Ugandan side to lift the cup since the 1970s?
