Elland Road is set to be an absolute fortress today as Leeds United looks to build on their historic win at Old Trafford against a Wolves side that is quite literally fighting for its life. Leeds fans are still buzzing after sticking it to Manchester United on Monday—their first win there since 1981—but don’t let the high of that victory fool you. This is exactly the kind of “banana skin” game that can ruin a weekend if the focus slips.

The Tactical War: Farke’s Momentum vs. Edwards’ Desperation

Leeds boss Daniel Farke is riding a serious wave of confidence. Sitting 15th and six points clear of the drop, the mission today is simple: secure the win that effectively guarantees safety. Farke has confirmed that Ao Tanaka is fit after a cramp scare at Old Trafford, meaning he’ll likely anchor the midfield again. The plan? Dominate possession, let Brenden Aaronson pull the strings, and feed Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who remains the focal point of the attack.

Wolves are in a mess, plain and simple. Sitting rock bottom of the table, Rob Edwards’ side could actually be officially relegated by the end of this weekend if results go against them. They haven’t won a single game on the road all season, and they’ve only managed to find the net 7 times in 16 away trips. To make matters worse, they are without the suspended Yerson Mosquera in defense. Expect Wolves to park a double-decker bus and hope Adam Armstrong or Hee-Chan Hwang can snatch something on a rare counter.
