The stage is set at the San Siro tonight for a high-stakes Coppa Italia semi-final second leg. Inter Milan welcomes Como 1907 in a tie that is balanced on a knife-edge after a cagey 0-0 draw in the first leg. With a spot in the final on the line, tonight isn’t just about tactics—it’s about who has the nerves to handle the pressure.

Inter comes into this clash in imperious form. Cristian Chivu’s side is currently riding a wave of momentum, fresh off a dominant 3-0 win against Cagliari. They’ve secured three straight victories and sit comfortably at the top of the Serie A table with 78 points. For the Nerazzurri, the goal is simple: domestic dominance. Adding a Coppa Italia trophy to a potential Scudetto is the mission.

The Injury List: Defensive Headaches for Chivu

Despite their hot streak, Inter isn’t without its problems. The big news out of Appiano Gentile is the absence of Alessandro Bastoni. The star defender is struggling with a leg injury, and reports suggest Chivu won’t risk him tonight, likely turning to Carlos Augusto to fill the void.

Even more concerning is the continued absence of captain Lautaro Martinez, who is still nursing a muscle injury. In his stead, the pressure falls on Marcus Thuram and young Francesco Pio Esposito to provide the clinical edge that was missing in the first leg.

Cesc’s Como: The Ultimate Underdogs

Don’t let the “underdog” tag fool you—Cesc Fàbregas has built a resilient side. Currently sitting 5th in Serie A, Como has been the surprise package of the season. While they’ve slipped slightly in recent weeks, including a chaotic 4-3 loss to Inter in league play just ten days ago, they proved in the first leg that they can go toe-to-toe with the giants.

With Tasos Douvikas leading the line, the Lariani have the firepower to cause problems on the counter-attack. Fàbregas knows that one away goal could completely change the complexion of this tie and leave the San Siro crowd in stunned silence.

Prediction: The San Siro Factor

While Como has the heart, Inter has the depth and the experience. Expect a cagey start, but once the Nerazzurri find their rhythm, the quality gap should tell. We’re backing Inter to edge this one in a tight contest, likely a 2-1 victory that sees them march into the final.
