The curtains on Serie A Matchday 34 fall at the Stadio Olimpico this Monday night as Lazio welcome Udinese. With the European spots looking like a distant dream and relegation fears long forgotten for both sides, this is a pure scrap for pride and a top-ten finish.

Lazio comes into this one buzzing after a dramatic midweek penalty shootout win over Atalanta to reach the Coppa Italia final. However, that 120-minute marathon in Bergamo has left Maurizio Sarri with a squad running on fumes, and heavy rotation is the name of the game for the Biancocelesti.

Team News & Predicted XIs

Lazio:

Sarri is expected to ring the changes—potentially as many as six. Key defender Mario Gila is out after limping off against Atalanta, likely handing a start to youngster Oliver Provstgaard. Veteran keeper Ivan Provedel remains sidelined, so Edoardo Motta continues between the sticks. Up front, expect a fresh look with the likes of Pedro and Daniel Maldini pushing for starts.

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Motta; Lazzari, Provstgaard, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Cataldi, Basic, Taylor; Pedro, Maldini, Zaccagni.

Udinese:

Kosta Runjaić’s men are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss to Parma. They will be without Jesper Karlström due to a yellow card suspension, while Zemura and Davis are still in the treatment room. Nicolò Zaniolo will lead the charge, looking to haunt a Roman side once again.

Probable Lineup (4-3-2-1): Okoye; Solet, Kabasele, Kristensen; Kamara, Ehizibue, Petrowski, Atta; Ekkelenkamp, Zaniolo; Lucca.

Head-to-Head & Key Stats

Last Meeting: A cagey 1-1 draw back in December 2025.

The “Under” Trend: Lazio’s last six matches have all seen Under 2.5 goals. They are defensively sound but have struggled to kill games off.

Home Comforts: Lazio are unbeaten in their last four home league games, while Udinese have actually been decent on the road, going unbeaten in their last three away trips.

Match Prediction: Lazio 1-1 Udinese

Lazio are the better side on paper, but the “Coppa Italia hangover” is real. Sarri’s heavy rotation and the fatigue from 120 minutes of midweek football will level the playing field. Udinese are specialists at grinding out results against the big boys, and another stalemate looks written in the stars.
