Elland Road was rocking on Friday night as Leeds United secured a vital 3-1 victory over an already-relegated Burnley, moving Daniel Farke’s men a massive step closer to confirming their top-flight status for another season.

The Whites entered the clash knowing that three points against the basement-dwelling Clarets would all but extinguish any lingering relegation fears. With Burnley’s fate already sealed following a midweek loss to Manchester City, the stage was set for Leeds to dominate—and they did not disappoint.

First Half: Leeds Take Control

From the first whistle, Leeds looked the more hungry side. The deadlock was broken in the 8th minute when Anton Stach found the back of the net, sending the home crowd into early raptures. Leeds maintained high pressure throughout the opening period, limiting Burnley to speculative counters. Despite a few yellow cards for Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon as they broke up play, the hosts went into the break with a deserved 1-0 lead.

Second Half: Clinical Finishing Seals the Deal

The second half saw Leeds move through the gears. Noah Okafor doubled the lead in the 52nd minute with a clinical finish, effectively ending Burnley’s resistance. Just four minutes later, the in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin added a third, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to score his 12th goal of the campaign.

Burnley, playing under interim boss Mike Jackson following Scott Parker’s recent departure, did manage a consolation goal in the 71st minute through Loum Tchaouna. However, it was too little, too late for the visitors, who slumped to their fifth consecutive league defeat.
