Igor Tudor has spoken publicly for the first time since being appointed interim head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, laying out a stark and focused vision as he prepares for his debut match in charge.

Tudor, 47, took over following the dismissal of Thomas Frank with Spurs struggling in the Premier League — sitting 16th in the table, just five points above the relegation zone.

In his first formal interview and press conference, the Croatian made it clear that this appointment isn’t about personal enjoyment: “I’m not here to enjoy it — I’m here to work.”  He stressed the importance of mental strength, unity and a fighting mentality as key elements of his immediate approach, rather than focusing on reputation or long-term plans.

Asked directly about Tottenham’s precarious position, Tudor was emphatic in his confidence: he is “100 per cent” certain Spurs will remain in the Premier League next season, despite the challenges.

The new head coach highlighted the squad’s potential and insisted that the key to survival lies in hard work and collective belief, not fear of results.  With injuries limiting available players in training, his initial focus is on building resilience and character ahead of a pivotal north London derby against league leaders Arsenal.

For a club in crisis, Tudor’s first remarks signal a no-nonsense, hardworking mindset, with immediate pressure to translate words into performances on the pitch.
