The champagne remains on ice for Inter Milan as they were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday. Simone Inzaghi’s men appeared to be cruising toward another three points, but a spirited second-half fightback from the hosts reminded everyone that the Scudetto isn’t won until the math says so.

Despite the draw, the Nerazzurri maintain a commanding 10-point lead over second-placed Napoli with only four games left in the season.

Cruise Control and Bisseck’s Big Moment

Inter started with the swagger of champions-elect. Marcus Thuram opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, showing his usual predatory instinct to silence the Turin crowd. The lead was doubled early in the second half when Yann Bisseck rose highest to meet a pinpoint corner from Federico Dimarco—marking Dimarco’s incredible 18th assist of the campaign.

At 2-0 up by the 61st minute, most Inter fans were already checking the calendar for their official coronation date.

The Toro Fightback

Torino, battling for pride and mathematical safety, refused to roll over. The momentum shifted in the 70th minute when Giovanni Simeone produced a moment of magic, lofting the ball over Yann Sommer after a slick build-up.

The nerves truly set in for Inter just nine minutes later. A handball from Carlos Augusto gifted Torino a penalty, and Nikola Vlasic made no mistake from the spot, rifling the ball home to level the scores. Inter threw everything forward in the final minutes—including a late Piotr Zielinski effort that whistled past the post—but the Granata held firm to earn a hard-fought point.

What’s Next?

Inter now sits on 79 points, and while the title race is still technically alive, it remains a matter of “when” rather than “if.” They will look to secure the trophy in front of their own fans next week at San Siro, while Torino can celebrate officially securing their Serie A status for another season.
